At Vuarnet, we are committed to develop high-quality products but also more durable and progressively more eco-friendly.
- We produce our lenses in our own factory in Meaux, near Paris
- Our sun lenses are made of mineral glass: in addition to its intrinsically superior quality compared to plastic lenses, mineral glass is 100% natural and 100% recyclable.
- Our production channel is as local as possible: sand, the main raw material for mineral lenses, comes from the Seine et Marne rivers, 25 km away from Paris.
Nevertheless, we are aware that we still have some improvements to make to achieve 100% eco-friendly collections. We are working on it by focusing on two areas of work: our packaging and our frames with new recyclable materials. Stay tuned.
At Vuarnet, our mission is inseparable from natural elements, the sun, snow and water. This is why we support the Tara Foundation and its scientific expedition boat. This French association, active since 2003, brings together specialists in research on the impact of micro-plastics on the oceans. For almost 12 years, the Tara laborator boat has undertaken 11 expeditions and traveled 375,000 kilometers sailing the oceans.
At Vuarnet, protecting our customers’ eyes is our primary commitment: it therefore seemed obvious to us to give our support to populations living in the most extreme conditions of light.
This is the reason why we support the Shades of Love association, which aims to help people in remote regions of the Himalayas and the Andes with the importance of protecting their eyes. So, for any purchase of a Vuarnet model on our eshop and boutiques, we offer a new sunglasses to the association with our Buy One, Give One program.
