Dive deep into the world of Vuarnet’s Fellowship Alpine Emissary Program through A Fellow’s Tale: Mountain Stories, a collection of alpine vignettes.

« That's also part of the balance you have to find to keep moving forward and to keep walking on the edge of the mountain. »

Charles Dubouloz, from Faverges in Haute-Savoie, is a rising star of French mountaineering. He surveys and explores new summits and routes in remote places such as the Himalayas. He attracted widespread attention in January 2022 when he climbed the "Rolling Stones" route, one of the most challenging in the Grandes Jorasses, in the Mont Blanc massif. For six days, Charles found himself alone in the face of rock and ice, suspended in the darkness of the north face, at temperatures approaching -20°C.
The movie “De l’ombre à la lumière” (directed by Sébastien Montaz Rosset) retraces his solo adventure on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses, and the movie “Deep Freeze” relates the group project about the route “Directissime Walker” ascent in five days with Clovis Paulin and Symon Welfringer. The face is located to the left of the Rolling Stones route track in the Grandes Jorasses - a nod to Charles.
A Fellow’s Tale: Mountain Stories is a collection of vignettes from the Vuarnet Fellowship Alpine Emissary Program. Vuarnet Fellows are relentless explorers and athletes, just as Vuarnet is relentless in our dedication to craftsmanship and quality protection. The Fellowship is an inclusive space that fosters an extraordinary sense of community in celebration of our inherent quest to commune with the mountains. A Fellow’s Tale explores the human side of experience, the desire to transcend ourselves and our Fellows’ essential need to pursue their particular paths in life.
