Vuarnet's PolarLynx lenses are a sophisticated combination of their proprietary Polar and Lynx™ technologies, crafted from high-quality mineral glass. This design ensures optimal optical comfort across diverse lighting conditions.
Key features and benefits of PolarLynx lenses include:
- Advanced Glare Protection: They effectively eliminate glare through polarization, making them ideal for environments with high reflectivity like water or snow.
- Bi-Gradient Mirror Treatment (Lynx™ Technology): A darker mirror coating is applied to the top and bottom of the lens, while the middle section remains clear. This protects the eyes from direct sunlight and reflected light, enhancing clarity and contrast.
- Superior Material: Vuarnet exclusively uses mineral glass for its lenses, providing unmatched optical quality, scratch resistance, and durability.
- Comprehensive Eye Protection: PolarLynx lenses filter 100% of UV (UVA, UVB, & UVC) rays, provide up to 99% protection against harmful blue light (HEV), and block nearly all infrared (IR) rays. This helps reduce heat buildup and eye fatigue during extended outdoor exposure.
- Enhanced Visual Experience: These lenses are designed to improve contrast and depth of field, offering sharp vision and vibrant color perception.
- Specialized Coatings: Oleophobic and hydrophobic coatings repel fingerprints, sweat, and water, maintaining clear vision.
PolarLynx lenses are particularly well-suited for activities such as fishing, water sports, and mountaineering, where intense glare and extreme lighting conditions are common. Vuarnet lenses are generally darker than those from other brands, with most having a Visible Light Transmission (VLT) of 9-12%, compared to the typical 15% VLT of other brands. The mineral lenses are produced in Vuarnet's own factory near Paris.
